When Learning is Delicious

When I was in school, my favorite subject was lunch. Seriously. Learning was for the birds! It wasn’t until I met my husband that I realized I had some basic knowledge gaps with stuff I should know, such as US presidents and state capitals. I would like to think it’s because I lived in Canada until the 5th grade but it might be a combination of that, bad public schools, and my lack of desire or care (mostly this, I’m sure). Now, as an adult I wish I knew some of these things to keep up with my husband. Well, I’m seriously beyond thrilled to have found a product that combines my favorite subject (food) with learning!

5 Things Successful Mom Bosses Do

A few weeks ago, I got the opportunity to attend a super fun event with other bloggers and Mom Bosses that were totally inspiring to me. I always love hearing how successful women become successful and what they do to stay that way. And because I’m such a super generous and thoughtful person (ha!), I partnered with STARTplanner to share some tips that I have learned with you!

What I Will Teach My Daughters About the 2016 Election

It’s the day after a historic, game-changing presidential election. Social media is on fire. I won’t share for whom I voted yesterday; those who know me personally probably already know. But that’s irrelevant to this conversation because I am not here to take sides or share my political opinions. People are upset, outraged, and emotional, to say the least. People are wondering how this could have happened. How did America get it wrong? What do we tell our children?

10 Lessons From My First 6 Months of Blogging

It’s hard to believe that my 6 month blogiversary was last week! In some ways I feel like I have been doing this and in other ways I feel like I just started yesterday. I have had a lot of successes in the past 6 months, all of which I am very proud. But, at the end of the day I am still a total newb who is just trying to navigate her way through this crazy blogger life.

This corner of the internet started out as a hobby for me, an outlet. And, in many ways it still is. It’s something that is mine and only mine. I get to experiment, express, and engage. It’s a labor of love for sure. All of that said, I’ve made a lot of mistakes along the way and so here are 10 lessons I’ve learned.

Stress-Free Appetizer with Stella Cheese

Have I ever mentioned how not-domestic I am? Well, if I’ve failed to mention that until now, I apologize. I lack the gift of being able to create beauty with food and I’m not exactly the best hostess, either. The good news is that I’m not the worst (but pretty close). But, that being said, I have found myself hosting small-holiday dinners over the past few years and have had to scramble for appetizers for my guests. I mean, isn’t preparing a huge meal enough? Apparently not. So, sometimes I get a shrimp cocktail ring and call it a day. Other times, I set out “fancy” chips and dips or something of the like. We busy mamas don’t have a ton of time so low maintenance is the way for me. Stress-Free. Well, this year I decided to take an extra step and go with a Stella Cheese board using their delicious Romano and Parmesan cheeses! Stress-Free can be delicious, too!

Giving Thanks

Back in college, I used to make a point to write down a list of things for which I am thankful every year at Thanksgiving. I don’t know when or why I stopped but I decided that I want to start again. Life can be busy and challenging and straight up hard but we are abundantly privileged and blessed and have so much for which to be grateful. I think it’s so important to take a step back and acknowledge all the good in our lives. Here’s my list (not in any particular order).
