It’s no secret that my kids can be fussy eaters (or complete non-eaters) sometimes, so I’m always looking for mom hacks to make sure they’re getting what they need nutritionally, despite their poor eating habits. I’ve mentioned in the past that I like to sneak fruits and veggies into smoothies for my girls so today I’m sharing a new 3-in-1 favorite that’s a great alternative to junk food (or, no food), Daily Sunshine. Even though it comes dairy-free and is great mixed with just water, we put our own little spin on it to make it even more delicious.
Daily Sunshine was created by the co-creator of Shakeology® (I love that stuff!) and is made with organic fruits and vegetables, organic pea protein, and healthy fats, making it a nutritional choice for parents and a delicious choice for kids! It’s also gluten-free, soy-free, non-gmo, and (as mentioned) dairy-free. It comes in two flavors: Chocolate and Strawberry Banana. Chocolate is my girls’ favorite because I like to use it to make them a “chocolate milkshake” using the super easy recipe below:
- 1 Package Chocolate Daily Sunshine Mix
- 6 oz Organic Milk
- 2 oz Organic Strawberry Yogurt
Add all the ingredients, shake it up, and serve! I make my kids one anytime they refuse breakfast, which is pretty often. While I often buy dairy-free products, we’re not technically a dairy-free family so I like to use milk and yogurt with our Daily Sunshine mix. I like that doing so fills their bellies. No one likes hangry kids, am I right?!
Share your kid nutrition and mom hack secrets with me in the comments below and don’t forget to try Daily Sunshine! If you’re like me, you’ll even sneak some for yourself. 🙂
