You may remember that I recently had to forgo my cleaning lady as part of our new one-income journey. It didn’t take long after for us to realize we needed a new vacuum; the one we previously had was a wedding gift and nearly 8 years old. Honestly, the first brand that came to mind was Dyson. I had heard such great things about the brand and knew I wanted to give it a try. Although I don’t have any pets, I decided to try the Dyson Animal Ball 2 because my full head of hair sheds a lot and I have two [messy] daughters who take after their mama’s full locks. What I wasn’t expecting, though, was how much I would be in love with a vacuum. Weird, right? I guess that’s what being an adult is: getting excited about a new vacuum and writing a heartfelt ode to it on the Internet.
How do I love my Dyson? Let me count the ways.
I love how lightweight it is and that I can carry it without breaking a sweat.
I love that the cleaner head automatically adjusts to different carpet heights and floor types.
I love how easy and hygienic it is to dump the waste.
I love how my poor back is saved by the instant-release wand; I also love how high and far I can reach with it.
I love the tools that come with the vacuum.
I love that it isn’t huge and is easily stored.
I love how strong the suction is, reducing the number of times I need to pass over the same spots.
I love that it’s quieter than my old vacuum (which sounded like a freight train).
I love how easy it is to push and maneuver.
I love how long the cord is, allowing me to move throughout my home easily.
As with any love affair, though, there are always downsides. The downside for my Dyson Animal Ball 2 is that I can’t hang the attachments on the vacuum itself and have to find a way to store them. I also wish it had a light on the front of it but that’s really a non-issue. Other than that, I’m a huge fan of my new Dyson and hope that we have a long and happy life together.
