If you’ve been hanging with me for awhile, you may have heard me say a time or two that coffee wasn’t really my thing; I used to not drink it much and didn’t really get why people were so crazy about it. Then I decided to be home with my girls full-time and that all changed. It may sound surprising, but being home requires so much more energy than working in an office full-time did – at least for me. I’d like to say that I get more sleep now that I’m home but that doesn’t happen. So, the solution? Coffee. I don’t drink it every day but when I need coffee, I need it before I try to accomplish anything. Coffee has become my go-to, especially since there’s a McDonald’s conveniently located on the way to E’s school.
We’ve already established that I’m not a morning person. Not at all. Our morning routine can be hectic, especially now that my girls both have somewhere to be at 8:00. Sadly for me, I don’t leave any time for myself before hustling us all out the door (plus, getting them out the door is exhausting). So, by time I drop them both off, I’m ready to go right back to bed and have to convince myself not to – especially if I was up late the night before (which happens pretty often). I’ve found that if I don’t have a cup of coffee, I do end up going back to bed instead of tackling my forever-long to-do list. But, if I stop at my local McDonald’s for a sweet pick-me-up, I feel like I can take on the world. Housework, groceries, blog work, and emails have nothing on me. I’ve been converted, y’all. I’m a believer.
All of that said, my mornings now consist of three staples to prepare me for the long day ahead:
- Coffee
- A baseball cap – because who has time to wash their hair?
- Sneakers – to chase my kids out the door
It only took a few months, but I guess I’ve really embraced this whole at-home mom thing – coffee and all. 🙂
McCafé has a new line of café-quality espresso drinks, including Caramel Macchiato and Vanilla Cappuccino (my faves). They even have a Pumpkin Spice Latte in September and October! I prefer my McCafé iced (with whipped topping) but every so often I do enjoy a warm drink instead of a cold one.
You can try any small McCafé for only $2! Plus, when you buy 5 any size McCafé beverages, you’ll get one any-sized McCafé beverage free with the McD app! (Valid 1/18/17 – 12/31/17. McD App download and registration required. Valid only at participating U.S. McDonald’s. ©2017 McDonald’s). Find a store near you and try a new McCafé beverage today!

Nothing happens before coffee (or English Brekafast tea) in my house. Can’t believe you are just coming around to it!!! Hahaha

Hahaha! Me neither! Now tea, on the other hand, is something I’ve always loved!
I tried the McDonald’s caramel macchiato over the weekend, and it was delicious! This momma has to have her daily coffee in order to survive!

I haven’t tried that one! It sounds like I need to!
I really appreciate a good latte, but McD never has any decaf options available rather than plain coffee. (I started drinking decaf with my first son and now it’s all I drink…weird, but the smell/taste of coffee gives me an energy boost Sam’s the caffeine.) If they had decaf espresso drinks, I would def be there often!

They don’t have decaf?! I’ve totally never noticed! Bummer!
Not sure if I could properly function without coffee… I havent tried this drink from Mcdonalds…maybe I’ll check it out
