This is not a political post. That said, this election week has been crazy, to say the least. Many have been asking how we will explain it to our children. What do we tell our daughters? How could this have happened? I had a different blog post written yesterday but, after some reflection, decided not to post it. Rather than think about what this election may or may not teach my children, I realized that what my husband and I teach our children – our daughters – will hold more weight with them than anyone else on the planet. So, I redirected my focus away from current events.

Can you believe that it’s already time to start thinking about Christmas holiday shopping? I, personally, prefer to not start until Black Friday but with all the chaos of life these days, I’ve decided it’s better to start early and shop little by little. In fact, I already have a few gifts for my girls from IncrediBundles.com!

Y’all, this post has been hard for me to write. These photos are hard for me to post. Mostly because in my hearts of hearts, I know I’m being ridiculous. Many of you will read this post and look at these photos and think that I’m absolutely crazy, and maybe I am; you’ll think I have dysmorphia, and maybe I do. You’ll tell me that I look great and that I should be proud of and happy with myself; that the way I think I should look is unrealistic and unattainable. But the truth is that while you might be right, I just don’t like my postpartum body and I’m not sorry about that. Some of you will be mad at me for thinking negative thoughts about myself because you’re not happy with yourself, either… and you’re entitled to that just like I’m entitled to how I feel.

Once upon a time, in a suburb of Atlanta, a mom and daughter picked the wrong battle (or was it?). It was a normal September Sunday, just 10 days before Lady A’s fourth birthday. Todd was out of town on a camping trip with his buddies and I had been solo-momming it up all weekend. All was going well until lunchtime… at which time things went very, very wrong.

Oh, man. I wish I had a dollar for every time I said I was tired. As a working, blogging mom, I can certainly get myself stressed out and wound up pretty often. Sleep isn’t something I get enough of and I always feel like I have something hanging over my head that needs to be done. Relaxation isn’t something I get to do very often. In fact, it often feels like a fantasy. One morning recently, I putting on my makeup before work and couldn’t help but focus on my super dark and deep under-eye circles. I quickly realized that if I feel (and look) this way, lots of other moms just like me must, too. So, I decided to start a blog series highlighting some of my favorite products to help us mamas relax! Just because we don’t have time to get to the spa doesn’t mean that we can’t bring the spa to us, right?!
