I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m Shannon, a 30-something mom of two young girls (ages 4 and 2, respectively) and a wife to my best friend, Todd. I recently put my career as an Human Resources professional on hold to spend more time with my family. I plan to go back to work full-time in a few years and pick up temporary consulting/project work here and there along the way. That said, I’m not a full-time working mom but am not a full-time stay-at-home mom, either – and that’s the way I like it. Who needs labels, anyway?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and a Masters in Human Services: Business Management. I’m still paying for both. I have lived in a suburb of Atlanta, GA, since 2011 but spent most of my life in Tampa, FL.
I’m pretty boring by nature. My favorite things include online shopping, overeating, sarcasm, outdoor country concerts, 90’s R&B and hip-hop, the snooze button, and the Oxford comma. My hobbies include snuggling my kids, annoying my husband, reality TV binging, buying things I don’t need, and dreaming of ways to become wealthy enough to hang by the pool all day while a cabana boy serves me fresh margaritas. My life’s goal is to become a lady of leisure who “does lunch” and orders overpriced salads with a side of truffle fries.
I love Jesus.
I cuss a little.
I’m really bad at math.
Carbs are my lifeline.
I love things that sparkle.
Yoga pants are my jam (cliché but true).
My face wasn’t designed for selfies.
Sallie Mae is my arch nemesis.
My work has been featured domestically on Scary Mommy, The Huffington Post, and LittleThings. Internationally, my writing has also been featured in at least 3 countries (that I know of): Ireland, Australia, and Indonesia. I’m also a contributor to the Atlanta Area Moms Blog. Check out the icons on my sidebar for links (desktop) or scroll all the way down (mobile).
You can count on me to keep it real.
